Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend I.Alizade / The body of worker Rauf Abdullayev who was buried under the collapsed building in the Neapol Leisure Center on 14 August has finally been recovered.
In order to find the cause for his death, a post-mortem was held at the hospital which revealed that Abdullayev died as a result of his physical injuries. Later, Abdullayev's body was handed over to his relatives.
"Rauf Abdullayev was buried under steel the thickness of more than 1 m," said his relatives. Rauf Abdullayev, a resident of Sumgayt city, has left behind two children.
On 14 August, one worker was injured and two others died as a result of the building collapsing during construction in the Neapol Leisure Center. The dead bodies of Rafig Mammadov, 57, who was an IDP from Azerbaijan's district of Zengilan and Rauf Abdullayev, 43, who was from Sumgayt city were removed from the collapsed building. The rescue team was able to save one construction worker, Rasim Mammadov. He received light injuries and was allowed to go home after receiving medical treatment.
A criminal case has been filed in accordance with Article 222.2 (violation of security rules during construction which cause death) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan and the Head of the construction, Aliyev Shamil, has been detained.
