Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr K. Zarbaliyeva / A fire started at a liquefied gas filling station in the centre of Azerbaijan's Agstafa region at 11.35am on 29 August. As a result, nine people were injured, four of them being women. They were taken to Agstafa Region Central Hospital. The condition of two women is serious, according to Agstafa Region Police Department.
The fire started while filling gas-cylinders with liquefied gas. According to preliminary accounts, the fire was caused by a cigarette and a short circuit. One of the injured people, a resident of the village Zalimkhan, Rahim Karimov, is the owner of the station. Karimov's - VAZ 2107, was car burnt in the fire.
A criminal case was been filed at Agstafa Region Prosecutor's Office for contravening Article 223.1 (violation of safety regulations in highly explosive areas).
