Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Agayeva / Nominating Dmitry Medvedev for the presidency in Russia was an expected and wise decision, the Chief of Azerbaijan Presidential Administration's Foreign Relations Department, Novruz Mammadov, briefed the media on 12 December.
According to him, Medvedev may be the most worthy candidate to continue the political way of the current Russian President, Vladimir Putin. This candidature may be recognized by the leading countries around the world.
According to Mammadov, nominating Medvedev is a true decision.
"I know Medvedev well. I met with him during his visit to Baku. He is a clever politician who will continue the way of further development of Russia," he said.
As regards to Putin's candidature for the Prime Minister of Russia, Mammadov said that such a decision is necessary to maintain his importance in the policy.
