Azerbaijan, Baku, 9 February / Тrend corr D. Khatinoglu / Illegal interference of the Islamic Revolution's Guards Corps (SEPAH) with the elections may impede free elections.
"Interference of SEPAH with the parliamentary elections in Iran will cause a tragedy," an ideologist at the Iranian Government Sadig Zibakalam said to Trend in a phone conversation from London on 9 February.
On 8 February, the chair of the SEPAH, General Mohammadali Jafari said that the governing Usulgara party is the only force for the Islamic revolution among the parties functioning in Iran. And the main task of SEPAH is striving for victory in the parliamentary elections.
For the time being, there is only one party in Iran which joined the parliamentary elections - Usulgara, Zibakalam said to Trend. "The candidates from other parties are even not registered. In such conditions, SEPAH's interference with the elections and the attempt to remove other forces will end in full occupation of the Parliament by the governing party," he said.
According to Zibakalam, unequal rivalry among the parties and SEPAH's interference with the country's policy will cause a tragedy and miseries in the country.
SEPAH is a military force organized in 1979 by the decree of the religious leader Imam Khomeini for protection of the Islamic revolution and the borders of the country. According to the Constitution, SEPAH shall not interfere with the policy.
