Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill
Ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva attended ceremony of re-opening of the State
Russian Drama Theater named after Samad Vurgun in Baku after reconstruction.
The Head of State was informed that the restoration and reconstruction works,
started since October 2006, were completed within the schedule. Along with
reconstruction works, the Theater was equipped with modern and high-standard
furniture, colored projectors, and new lightening system and control desks. In
the Theater, as stated, also have been assembled modern ventilation, heating,
safety and fire systems.
After familiarization, the President met with the producer of the Theater,
People's Artist of Azerbaijan Alexander Sharovski and presented him the
"Shohret" ("Glory") Order of the Republic. Then, the Head of State talked to
the staff of Theater.
President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and the staff of Theater
were taken their photos in memory.
