Georgia, Tbilisi, 2 July / Trend corr N.Kirtskhalia/ "In case of Russia opens a representation office in Sukhumi, Georgia will react adequately," Georgia's Foreign Minister Eka Tkeshelashvili said to journalist on 2 July. She did not specify what she meant.

Tkeshelashvili said Russian Foreign Ministry's intention to open a representation office in Sukhumi is exasperating. "Should Russia implement the plan, it will be unambiguous violation of our sovereignty. The countries respecting those fundamental rights which are called international law do not act like that," said Minister.

According to Abkhazia's exiled legitimate authorities, Russian Foreign Ministry plans to open a representation office in Sukhumi without coordinating the issue with Georgia.

In 90s, an unofficial representation of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeriya was operating in Tbilisi, but later authorities shut it down under the pressure of Moscow.
