Serbian envoys to return to EU posts

Serbian envoys pulled out of European Union capitals that recognized Kosovo's independence, will soon return to their posts, Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic said Sunday, dpa reported.

More than 40 countries, including the United States and a majority of EU members state, extended diplomatic recognition to Kosovo after it split from Serbia in February.

Jeremic told journalists he would propose to the government that the diplomats return to their EU posts. Ambassadors from non-EU states will not be covered by the move, he said.

Serbia's ruling ruling coalition of pro-European parties and Socialists welcomed the decision, but the nationalist opposition said it amounted to "a capitulation" by Serbia.
