Azerbaijan, Baku, 4 September / Trend corr. L.Abdulazimova/ Ukraine is celebrating the 17th anniversary of its independence, with the achievements in domestic and foreign policy, Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Boris Klimchuk said.
Stable democratic power system was established in Ukraine and its is based on European values and democratic traditions, market economy, respect to human rights and freedoms, including mass media freedom, Ambassador said at a press conference dedicated to Ukraine's Independence Day on 4 September.
According to the Ambassador, Ukraine's relations with friendly Azerbaijan were comprehensively and intensively developing during the years of independence. "This year was particularly rich. Mutual visits of heads of states brought the Ukraine-Azerbaijan relations to a new strategic partnership level," he said.
At present, Ukraine and Azerbaijan are on the threshold of implementation of large international projects which can dramatically affect the energy security of the region and of entire Europe, Klimchuk said.
