International Observers Says Voters Show High Activity in Ganja City of Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Ganja, 15 October/ Trend , corr V. Mammadov/ International observers say voters show high activity in Ganja city of Azerbaijan (365km of Baku).

Jacob Kuitwaard, chairman of International Working Group Mission for Observing Vote in Ganja said to journalists that he did not witness serious irregularities. He said he had observed the vote in several polling stations.

"We only witnessed that some voters could not find their names in voters' lists. We did not see any other irregularities," he said and added that voters are very active.

Constituency Election Commissions say about 400 foreign observers have been registered in Ganja, 56 of which account for OSCE and 1,319 are local observers. Nearly 610 of them are from political parties, 424 - NGOs and 285 are volunteers.

A of total of seven candidates run for presidency including Ilham Aliyev, chairman of Ruling New Azerbaijan Party, Igbal Agazade, chairman opposition Umid (Hope) Party, Fazil Gazanfaroglu, chairman of Great Establishment Party, Gudrat Hasanguliyev, chairman of Unified Popular Front Party, Hafiz Hajiyev, chairman of Muasir Musavat Party, Fuad Aliyev, chairman of Liberal Democrat Party and independent candidate Gulamhuseyn Alibayli.
