Azerbaijan, Baku, 4 November / Trend , corr. J.Babayeva /The left-wing Social Democratic party of Azerbaijan (SDPA) does not believe in establishment of the union of left-wing parties.

"Representation of any party members in a union, which could not meet their ambitions, is impossible," Araz Alizade, the Co-chairman of SDPA told Trend .

A preliminary agreement on establishment of the union of left-wing parties was agreed between the Social, Communistic, Unified Communistic parties and Communistic party of Azerbaijan on the ground of Marxism and Leninism.

According to Alizade, SDPA holds discussions on the issue. "I voiced my opinion regarding the unnecessary of establishment of the union. Although I do not believe in establishment of the union I wish them good luck," the co-chairman of SDPA said.

A political culture is necessary for representation of political parties within a bloc. "There are some shortages in the political culture in Azerbaijan. The personal ambitions of chairmen are usually prevail," Alizade said.

The Azerbaijani community needs the establishment of the union of left-wing parties. We still are the one left-wing force in the country," Alizade added.

Araz Alizade is the co-chairman of the left-wing opposition SDPA and Ayaz Mutallibov, ex-President of Azerbaijan, who lives in emigration at present.

Mutallibov was elected first president in 1991 when Azerbaijan gained independence. Later an action was brought against him. He has been living in immigration in Russia since 1992.
