Azerbaijan, Baku, 5 November / Trend , corr.A.Huseynbala/The establishment of a union of Azerbaijani opposition parties, which participated in the presidential election, will not take place.

"The Chairman of the Popular Front of Unified Azerbaijan Party Gudrat Hasanguliyev put forward a proposal to establish a union. "I said that the establishment of the union is possible only on the threshold of the presidential election," Fazil Gazanfaroglu, the Chairman of the Great Establishment Party (GEP), said.

Seven candidates run for presidency at the 15 October presidential elections including Ilham Aliyev, chairman of Ruling New Azerbaijan Party, Igbal Agazade, chairman of opposition Umid (Hope) Party, Fazil Gazanfaroglu, chairman of Great Establishment Party, Gudrat Hasanguliyev, chairman of Unified Popular Front Party, Hafiz Hajiyev, chairman of Muasir Musavat Party, Fuad Aliyev, chairman of Liberal Democrat Party and independent candidate Gulamhuseyn Alibayli.

According to CEC, Ilham Aliyev gained a majority -88.73%, Igbal Agazade -2.86%, Fazil Gazanfaroglu - 2.4%, Gudrat Hasanguliyev - 2.28%, Gulamhuseyn Alibayli - 2.23%, Fuad Aliyev - 0.78% and Hafiz Hajiyev - 0.65%.

After the election Hasanguliyev put forwards a proposal to establish a union of opposition parties, which participated in the election.

Gazanfaroglu considers that it is difficult to define the principles on the ground of which the cooperation is build, as no election is taking place in the country now. "The time for Hasanguliyev's proposal has not come yet. Therefore, at present, an individual activity of parties on different issues is more important," Gazanfaroglu added.

According to Gazanfaroglu, the cooperation amongst several parties, which participated in the elections with their own candidates, is not excluded in the future.

The pro-opposition Great Establishment Party was established in 2004 and held the state registration in 2005.
