Georgia, Tbilisi, 3 December / Trend corr. N.Kirtzkhalia/ The NATO-Georgia Commission becomes a central body, which will specify Georgia's joining the Alliance soon, Ekaterina Tkeshelashvili, the Georgian Foreign Minister, said in Brussels.

"At present NATO does not focus on Georgia's preparedness to get MAP, which so far, has been a centre of attention, but assistance Georgia in joining the Alliance. The NATO-Georgia Commission should play a central role with this purpose," Tkeshelashvili said.

The North Atlantic Alliance is fully prepared to make maximum efforts to render assistance within the framework of the NATO-Georgia Commission to bring the country nearer to membership, she said.

NATO continues its active support to Ukraine and Georgia and offers them annual national program for membership in the Alliance.
