Tbilisi, Feb. 10 / Trend , N.Kirtskhalia/
Georgian Interior Ministry denies reports that deserted Russian Sergeant Aleksandr Glukhov met with his mother.
Russian media outlets reported that the mother and son met in a village in the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict area.
The reports are false, Georgian Interior Ministry official Shota Khizanishvili told Trend .
"Glukhov is in Gudauri. He is resting there," he said.
Glukhov only wants to meet with his mother in Tbilisi.
The sergeant has no intention of approaching the area of the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict. He fears that he will be abducted by Russian soldiers guarding his mother, Khizanishvili said.
Moscow wants the meeting to be held in Ergneti, an administrative border between Georgia and South Ossetia.
Glukhov deserted his military unit in Akhalgory on Jan. 26 due to intolerable conditions in the army.
