Two Azerbaijani left wing parties - the Progressive and Socialist Party of Azerbaijan (PSPA) and the Popular and Socialist Party of Azerbaijan (PSPA), united
Under the agreement, members of the Progressive and Socialist Party and its organizations agencies will united with adjusted agencies of the Popular and Socialist Party. Chairman of the Progressive and Socialist Party Rustam Shakhsuvarov will be the deputy chairman of the Popular and Socialist Party on public relations issues.
The plenary session of the Progressive and Socialist Party Central Executive Committee has unanimously approved the agreement to unite with the Popular and Socialist Party. The agreement will come into force after the issue of adjusted order of the Popular and Socialist Party Chairman Rovshan Huseyinov.
The Progressive and Socialist Party agreed to cooperate in late 2008.
Before, Rustam Shakhsuvarov was a member of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan. The Popular and Socialist Party was founded in October 2009.
