Form of participation of Azerbaijan's Green Party in the coming municipal elections will depend on state registration.
"The party is in favor of self-participation in municipal elections. The party does not intend to enter into blocs in connection with the election. If the party will not pass state registration before the election, it will participate in the election together with some other party," Green Party Chairman Mais Gulaliyev told Trend .
The Green Party of Azerbaijan was established in December 2006. The party has not been registered with the Ministry of Justice thus far. Party's chairman Mais Gulaliyev was nominated for presidency by the initiative group "Green Policy" in last year's presidential election. Gulaliyev's nomination was registered by the Central Election Commission.
Azerbaijan will hold municipal election in December 2009.
Gulaliyev said the Justice Ministry receives appeal to register the party every week. "Though there are no problems about the documents submitted to the Ministry, the issue of registration remains unresolved for more than two years," he said.
Gulaliyev said the party does not hold joint events with the Georgian Green Party due to financial problems. "We will discuss ways to solve this problem together with the Georgian Green Party in late May," he said.
