Lack of control over arms in the occupied territory of the former Autonomous District of South Ossetia poses a threat not only for Georgia, but throughout the region. The uncontrolled movement of arms is a matter of security systems in Europe and OSCE should be interested in the matter, Georgian State Minister for Reintegration Temur Yakobashvili said.
Russian media also confirmed the information on location a large number of uncontrolled weapons in the Tskhinvali region. Some 164 rockets were discovered in closed boxes, with were hidden in humanitarian aid.
The existence of large quantities of weapons in the separatist region was also confirmed by the state minister. According to him, "there is so large quantity of weapons in the occupied territory which is enough not only to the area, but also the territory of 10 Caucasus."
