Iran's basketball players lose to U.S team

Iran's squad team lost to U.S team in basketball match of youth world championship U-19 launched in New Zealand town of Oakland on July 2, ILNA Iran's information agency said.   

Roughly 16 teams participate in tournament. Match between youth squad teams of Iran and the USA was held within B group. Iran's basketball players will also meet with squad team of France and Egypt. Championship will complete on July 12.

Earlier U.S Football Federation sent invitation to Iran's federation in which stressed willingness to conduct friendly match between squad teams of countries in Tehran. Iran's squad team was invited to the USA in May.

Relations between the USA and Iran were broken 30 years ago after takeover of U.S embassy in Tehran. Roughly 52 employees of embassy were detained as hostages during 444 days. In his turn, then U.S president Jimmy Carter signed decree 12170 in which extraordinary state due to threat for national security, foreign policy and economy of the USA were stressed. Head of White House administration Barack Obama said about possible talks with Tehran.
