U.S commander in chief of Central Command, David Petraeus, expressed gratitude to Kazakhstan for giving its territory for transit of non-defense U.S freights to provide coalition troops in Afghanistan, the Kazakh foreign ministry said.
"It was discussed during the meeting between Kazakh foreign minister Marat Tazhin and lieutenant-general David Petraeus," press-service said.
Moreover, interlocutors exchanged views on broad variety of urgent regional issues, including reconstruction of Afghanistan, counteraction to drugs traffic and threat of terrorism.
