The EU -Georgia agreement on simplifying the visa and reentry program may be legalized by late 2009, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister, David Zhalaganiya, said before a governmental meeting on Aug. 27.
The next round of negotiations between Georgia and the EU over simplifying the visa and reentry program took place in Brussels on Aug. 24-25. The text was coordinated by both delegations. The maximum number of citizens will use the visa privileges, Zhalaganiya said. The agreement includes Georgia's priority issues, the same source added.
The delegations also talked over important issues regarding reentry, Zhalangiya said.
The agreement is at one of the important stages. After it is signed both sides will have to go through certain processes to ratify the agreement.
