The process of nomination for municipal elections continues in Azerbaijan.
24,126 candidates have already been approved for 1,246 municipalities, the press service of the Central Election Commission (CEC) told Trend . Of this number, 4,677 are women. 12,108 approved candidates for municipal elections have higher education.
Of those whose candidatures were approved, 22,774 people received the signature lists in the constituencies. Of them, 6,854 candidates have collected the necessary signatures and submitted these lists and other necessary documents to the relevant constituencies. 754 candidates have already been registered in 219 municipalities.
Of the candidates, 5,877 people are independent, others represent 26 political parties.
Municipal elections in Azerbaijan will be held on December 23.
