Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva have today attended a ceremony to officially open the Republican Clinic Urological Hospital after its overhaul, the AzerTaj state news agency reported.
President Ilham Aliyev toured the facilities here.
The reconstruction was funded as part of public investment project and by the President`s Reserve Fund.
The clinic has been rebuilt to the modern standards.
The Head of State congratulated the staff on putting the clinic into service and gave recommendations and instructions.
The clinic was the first specialized one in the former Soviet Union. The renal transplantation was carried out here in 1971 for the first time in the South Caucasus and Near East.
