A delegation of the U.S. National War College visited the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) this week during their visit to the South Caucasus. Senior Pentagon military officers are part of the delegation.

Rector Hafiz Pashayev greeted the guests and discussed the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy's role in expanding diplomatic missions, as well as the demand for young and well-trained diplomats and governmental officials.

Speaking about U.S.-Azerbaijani relations, Pashayev stressed that energy projects in Azerbaijan have been made possible thanks to the strong support of previous U.S. administrations.

He focused on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as "Azerbaijan's most basic problem," but also noted that certain groups in the U.S. Congress have created a false image of Azerbaijan, and the 907th Amendment is an example of anti-Azerbaijani lobbying forces.
Pashayev called for the abolition of the amendment and added that such a move will help to improve the U.S. image in Azerbaijan.
