Turkic people is proud of its rich past and its genes. But all this must be transformed into a model of the formation of modern society, the adviser on education of the Turkish Republic to Azerbaijan Halis Koyuncuoglu said at the opening of a conference on "The role of leaders in the history of Turkic state", organized by Public Union of graduates of Turkish universities and Azerbaijani public youth association 'New generation'.

The Conference is devoted to the forthcoming Day of National Salvation.

"We should be proud of our genes and the past. But this is not enough. We should use this great heritage. Turkic people should tell the world about themselves," Koyuncuoglu said.

Speaking about the leaders in the history of Turkic state, Koyuncuoglu said that such figures as Heydar Aliyev, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, Orhan Gazi are the chosen people, whom Allah has sent to the Turkic peoples in due time.

"The Turkic people have the desire for independence and the unity. Even today, when the world was hit by the crisis, our countries were least affected, because they helped each other," the adviser said.

Turkic peoples help people suffering from injustice and bloodshed, such as the Palestinians, Koyuncuoglu said.
