According to the Georgian television company Maestro, the Georgian former Minister of Economy and Trade Vano Chkhartishvili left Georgia under the authorities’ pressure and now is in London.

According to the Georgian television company Maestro, the Georgian former Minister of Economy and Trade Vano Chkhartishvili left Georgia under the authorities' pressure and now is in London.

According to the television company, the Georgian authorities put pressure on Chkhartishvili, who is recently engaged in business to testify against the former Prime Minister, now leader of the opposition movement "For Fair Georgia" Zurab Noghaideli.

The authorities allegedly threatened the former Minister with multimillion dollar sanction. Noghaideli promises to address this issue, the Government does not comment on the information.

Chkhartishvili is owner of 15 percent share of SOCAR Georgia.
