Azerbaijan, Baku, June 23 / Trend S. Agayeva /

The Greek government guarantees Azerbaijani tourists to compensate all expenses in case of force majeure.

The Greek Ministry of Culture and Tourism is ready to pay compensation to the tourists who can not return home due to strikes or any natural disasters, Greek Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ioannis A. Metaxas told Trend.

The government agrees to pay all costs for hotel rooms and flights to any guest, even if the tourists are "stuck" in the country for these reasons, ambassador said.

Such a decision by the government aimed at improving the image of Greece as a tourism center.

Strikes and protests of airport employees and road services in Greece are still ongoing. But their number is significantly reduced.

The diplomat said that despite the current economic crisis, tourism in Greece has not been suffered much.

The Greek Embassy in Azerbaijan has the ability to issue visas to citizens without their presence.

Knowing the high standards of Azerbaijani tourists, Greece gives them the best holiday on the island of Crete, where the best hotels with a high level of service are placed, he said. A trip to Athens, the ancient historical and cultural center of civilization, will bring a lot of impressions for Azerbaijani tourists, diplomat said.
