Latvian Foreign Minister Aivis Ronis is on three-day working visit to Uzbekistan this week, a government source reported.

During his visit, Ronis will hold negotiations with his Uzbek counterpart Vladimir Norov and Defense Minister Kabul Berdiyev.

The sides are expected to discuss Uzbek-Latvian dialogue, trade and economic relations, and nonmilitary goods transit for the International Security Assistance Forces in Afghanistan.

They also plan to address the EU's presence in Central Asia and the issue of building a ties between NATO and regional countries.

Ronis will also meet with representatives of Latvian companies in Uzbekistan.
