Over 20 Uzbek athletes will attend the First Youth Olympic Games, to be held in Singapore, Aug. 14-26, the Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan told Trend.

Over 20 Uzbek athletes will attend the First Youth Olympic Games, to be held in Singapore, Aug. 14-26, the Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan told Trend.

Athletes from Uzbekistan - boys and girls born in 1993-1994, will be fight for medals in 14 kinds of sports of 31. Representatives of the artistic gymnastics, weightlifting, freestyle and Greco-Roman, women's wrestling will attend the Olympic games.

In particular, during the 11th Juniors Rhythmic Gymnastics Asian Championships, held in Tashkent in February 2010, team of the Uzbek "artists" - Aziz Mamadjanova, Sarvina Khalikova and Husniyabonu Gulyamova won a right to attend the Olympic games.

In Asian qualifying rounds in freestyle, Greco-Roman and women's wrestling among juniors, took place April 30 - May 2  in Tashkent, four representatives of Uzbekistan, including the Asian champion in Greco-Roman Wrestling Ruslan Komilov won the right to participate in the Olympic games.

By the decision of the International Olympic Committee and the International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles, which successfully participated in the qualifying rounds in freestyle and women's wrestling, one "voucher" has been provided. An athlete in wrestling Dierbek Ergashev won a gold medal at a tournament held in Tashkent.

Teams of boys and girls from Uzbekistan, in the individual event Zievuddin Kutbiddinov and Hanna Pustavarova will wrestle for prizes in the competitions on wrestling in Singapore Olympic games.
