Georgia to hold public debate on defense system

The Institute of Public Affairs of Georgia and the Policy and governance consulting group implement a project - "Public forum and dialogue" funded by the USAID.
The project aims to increase public involvement in the process of establishing projects in different sectors. Within the project public discussion will be held on the topic: "Existing military threats and challenges to the Georgian defense system and public: system, strategic, informational and resource issues." Lecture will be delivered by the Andro Barnov, the head of the Strategy and Development Institute. After completion of the presentation discussion will be held on these issues.
During the lecture the main factors that influence formation of the Georgian defense system will be discussed. Along with this, the adequacy of the current system will be reviewed and desired direction of the defense system will be defined. The meeting will be attended by representatives of the public sector, experts and other interested parties.
The discussion will be held Sept.24 at 17:00 in the conference hall of the National Library of the Parliament.
