The Azerbaijani government adopted the "Rules of accreditation of educational institutions".

The decree "Approval of rules for certification and accreditation of universities and colleges" is considered invalid upon the Cabinet of Ministers' decision, the Cabinet of Ministers said.

The rules were prepared according to the law of the Azerbaijan Republic "Education" and other legislation acts and regulate the accreditation of institutions operating in the territory of Azerbaijan, at all levels of education.

The regulation states that the accreditation of institutions is carried out to determine material-technical base of institutions, educational programs, human resources, financial resources and educational infrastructure with accepted requirements of state standards for education and other regulatory legal acts.

The rules provide legal support to determine the status of the institution to extend its activity for the next five years (for institutions established by foreigners or people without citizenship and foreign legal entities - for three years).

The accreditation of institutions is carried out by the Ministry of Education.

The requirements and criteria for the accreditation are determined by the Ministry.

The accreditation of universities consists of the following stages: preparation for accreditation, analysis of institution, analysis made by the accreditation commission, preparation of the final document on the accreditation, the definition of the status of the institution and the issuance of a document of quality - certificate.
