Iran boycotts Abu Dhabi Congress of OIC PA
Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan. 17 / Trend /
Iran is boycotting the Congress of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) in Abu Dhabi.
Iran will not participate in the conference, Iranian Parliamentary National Security and Foreign Policy Commission official Kazim Jalili was quoted as saying by the IRINN.
Jalili said the Abu Dhabi conference has no real political and legal force.
"The conference is held every two years and the congress is held once a year," he said. Another conference will soon be held in Indonesia, but the UAE has convened this emergency session to amend the assembly's charter, he added.
"The adoption of any resolution, and our compliance with any decisions of the conference, is unacceptable," Jalili said.
The congress starts on Jan. 17 in Abu Dhabi.
