President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received Turkish Gendarmerie Commander, General Necdet Ozel, AzerTAj state news agency reported
Ozel underlined Azerbaijan is the first country he visited after his appointment, adding he considers Azerbaijan his second homeland.
Necdet Ozel noted while in Baku he had very good discussions on development of bilateral cooperation.
The Head of State said the fact that Turkey's top officials make their first overseas trips to Azerbaijan became a good tradition. He expressed satisfaction that friendly and fraternal relations between the two countries manifest themselves among people. President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the importance of establishing close ties among officials of both countries. The Azerbaijani leader underscored Necdet Ozel's visit to Azerbaijan opens up good opportunities to learn more about the country. The Head of State expressed assurance that the general would be cooperating fruitfully with Azerbaijani counterparts.
