Azerbaijan, Baku, March 24 / Trend S. Agayeva /
Azerbaijan does not think that it is necessary to evacuate its embassy staff from Libya.
The diplomatic mission is working as normal, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Libya Agasalim Shukurov told Trend.
"The situation is hard here," he said. "However, the diplomatic mission continues operating normally."
He said four people, including the ambassador, are working at the diplomatic office.
Most foreign embassies in Libya have already stopped their activity. The embassies of Turkey, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Jordan, Morocco, Serbia and other countries still continue operating.
Earlier, all Azerbaijani citizens were evacuated from Libya.
The UN Security Council adopted resolution No 1973 on March 17. It envisages a ban on flights over Libya and military intervention in the country.
The military operations began on Saturday. The military forces of the United States, Great Britain, France, Italy and Canada were involved in these operations.
