About 31 drug smugglers were revealed and detained as a result of the operational actions taken by the Azerbaijani Ministry of National Security this year.
Over 362 kilograms of drugs were seized, the public relations department of the Azerbaijani Ministry of National Security told Trend.
As a result of the information exchange between the Ministry of National Security and Russian Drug Turnover Control Federal Service, Azerbaijanis - Barin Ali, Talibov Elman, Azizov Vidadi and Gurbanov Bahruz smuggling drugs en route "Iran-Azerbaijan-Russia" were detained in Novokuztensk city of Russia, 263 kg hashish was seized from them. It was determined that the members of the gang hid the hashish in the cargo container loaded with glass and sent from Iran to Russia. The cargo container was brought from Enzeli port of Iran to Astrakhan port of Russia and later was taken to Novokuznetsk city. The abovementioned persons were detained while taking the drugs from the cargo container.
As a result of another operation carried out by Ministry of National Security and Russian Drug Turnover Control Federal Service, Azerbaijanis - Shukurov Alimammad and Mammadov Azizaga were detained in Yekaterinburg, 53.5 kg hashish was revealed in the container with dates.
As a result of other operations conducted by the Ministry of National Security, Azerbaijani citizens Mammadsalahov Rashad, Guliyev Azer, Akhundov Rufin, Mammadov Kamil, Zeynalov Ibrahim and Gurbanov Navai were detained. They attempted to smuggle 10 kg heroin via the Baku-Moscow train conductors. Drug was founded in the ventilation trunk in the service coupe.
Azerbaijani citizens Bayramzadeh Huseynaga, Zeynalov Elchin, Mammadov Eldar, Hatamov Elshan, Mirzayev Khudaverdi and Veliyev Faig were detained when they were smuggling 15 kg hashish and 2 kg heroin from Iran to Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani citizens Novruzov Novruz, Behbudov Seymur, Hasanov Azer, Behboudov Isamaddin and Aliyev Mushfig were also detained. They were planning to smuggle 10 kg hashish in Baku-Kiev train.
Azerbaijani citizens Kerimov Vugar, Aghayev Ismayil, Kerimov Adil and Nazarov Seyran were detained in other operation. 2 kg heroin, 1 kg opium, hashish resin and metamphetain (syntetic narcotic drug) were found in the food boxes brought by Adil Kerimov and Seyran Nazarov from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the operations conducted in March, Azerbaijani citizens Bakhshiyev Adil, Isgandarov Aslan and Shukurov Teymur were detained. They smuggled 5 kg hashish, 2 kg heroin and 42.6 g opium from Iran to Azerbaijan.
Criminal investigation was launched on all of these facts and necessary investigative measures are taken for identifying other participants of the illegal actions.
