Azerbaijan, Baku, April 14 (Trend, K. Zarbaliyeva)

The Youth and Sports Minister of Azerbaijan gave interview to Ukraine's First Channel.
One of the main directions of the Channel's broadcast devoted to Azerbaijan is the youth policy and youth-related plans under implementation in the country, and reports of corresponding works, the Ministry's Press Service told Trend.

In his interview, Minister Azad Rahimov noted that 66 percent of the population of Azerbaijan is the youth, that more than 200 youth organizations have been operational in the country, and that the Ministry finances a variety of projects implemented by youth organizations. In addition, there is the permanent "hotline" to provide a better acquaintance with problems of the youth.

"We ended the State Program "Azerbaijani Youth in 2005-2009" with a great success. Several days ago President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev signed instruction on preparation of a new similar program covering the period of 2011-2015, which will include the most urgent, interesting demands of the youth", the Minister said.

Ragimov also told about youth employment and education problems. As every young person seeks good job, every organization seeks good employee, according to him. There are two problems - the lack of the correct search and the absence of high intellect - in this sphere, the Minister said.

"I'm convinced that skilful young people with the good knowledge of computer, language and high intellect will always be able to find a good job", said Ragimov.

The Minister also stated that the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev at his time sent young Azerbaijanis to a number of prestigious universities of Russia and Ukraine to study there and that this policy is now successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev: Azerbaijani students receive education at best universities of the world at the state expense.

"We held meetings with students who study in the UK, France and Germany. The next meetings will be conducted in Vienna, Moscow and Turkey. At every meeting, we take an interest in problems of students and acquaint directly with their desires", he said.
The Minister also informed about sports Olympic facilities and youth centers in operation and under construction in the country.
