Azerbaijan, Baku, May 26 /Trend, M.Aliyev/

There are no rally sentiments in Azerbaijan, people deal with daily activities, the deputy chairman, executive secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), Ali Ahmedov, told reporters on Thursday, commenting on the decision of the Public Chamber to hold a rally.

"Irrespective of how much these parties would build combinations, their attempts will not give real results, because people do not have rally sentiments. On the other hand, the policy does not consist only of the rallies," said Ahmedov.

He said the leaders of these parties are people who can not appreciate the reality. "They can not see the present situation of Azerbaijani society. The unions created and rallies conducted by them do not have any meaning for the Azerbaijani society," said Ahmedov.
He also expressed his attitude to attempts to create a union of opposition parties.

He also expressed his position on attempts of opposition parties to create a union.
"The unification of the opposition has already turned into an anecdote. What will they do now, if they could not do anything, unifying previously? Union of eight small parties will be small. Political parties represented in the radical wing of the opposition have completely lost their support in the community. The most obvious example of it is the failure of an attempt to hold rallies in April," said Ahmedov.

He said regardless of format, any union of opposition will not be stronger than their April activities.
