U.S. President Barack Obama has congratulated Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the Republic Day, the Azerbaijani President's official website reported.
"Dear Mr. President, on behalf of the American people, I congratulate you and the Azerbaijani people on the Republic Day and the 20th anniversary of your country's independence. The U.S. appreciates its partnership with Azerbaijan. The U.S. is committed to develop greater opportunities to jointly work with the Azerbaijani government and people in strengthening regional energy security, ensuring Azerbaijan's development as a democratic and prospering country and strengthening regional security, especially finding a peaceful solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The American people join me in conveying my best withes to you and the Azerbaijani people on your national holiday and historical anniversary," Obama said in congratulation letter.
