Azerbaijan, Baku, July 8 / Trend T.Hajiyev /
The Civil Movement Forum (CMF) voiced an initiative to hold discussions between the chairmen of eight opposition parties, Citizens and Development Party (CDP) Chairman Ali Aliyev told Trend.
Earlier, the CMF sent the proposal to the CDP and the Liberal Party (ALP) to merge the opposition.
"The both parties voiced positive reaction to the proposal. The CMF continues discussions with other opposition parties. This process began in February. The meeting to be held on July 9 shows that the discussions held with other parties gave a positive result," he said.
A meeting of all opposition parties' leaders is a very important question, Aliyev said. The meeting will discuss the current processes, situation in Azerbaijan and exchange views on the unification of the opposition, he added.
