President of Azerbaijan
Ilham Aliyev has visited the Yeni Surakhany settlement of the Surakhany district in Azerbaijan`s capital to inspect what has been done here to implement instructions given at a meeting on socio-economic development of Baku suburban settlements, the Azerbaijani President's official website reported.
Baku mayor Hajibala Abutalybov informed President Ilham Aliyev on the work done here using a lay-out of the settlement. He said paving 150 thousand square meters of roads with asphalt is going to be completed. The lands along the roads have been improved.
The Head of State met with residents here. President Ilham Aliyev inspected reconstruction of the settlement`s park.
The Head of State arrived at the 14 July street to visit a memorial monument dedicated to national leader Heydar Aliyev`s coming to power in 1969. Here, he talked to residents who thanked the Head of State for rebuilding works.
The President was informed that, in accordance with his instructions, one building of the school No85 had been demolished to build the new one and area around the school had been paved with asphalt.
The Azerbaijani leader met with school`s staff. They thanked the President for his instructions to construct the new building. President Ilham Aliyev attended a groundbreaking ceremony together with the school`s staff. Then, he viewed the school`s another shabby building and gave respective instructions.
