President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received today ambassador of Romania Nicolae Ureche who has completed his diplomatic mission in the country , the Azerbaijani President's official website said.
Speaking about development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Romania, the ambassador highlighted the significance of a joint action plan signed by presidents in order to realize strategic partnership.
The diplomat said friendly ties between Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Traian Basescu play a "key" role in development of relationship.
Ureche thanked the Azerbaijani government and personally President Ilham Aliyev for the support to him during his tenure.
President Ilham Aliyev praised "rapid" development of Azerbaijan-Romania ties, stressing importance of high-level reciprocal visits in this regard.
The Head of State hailed the ambassador`s contribution to further expanding cooperation between the two nations, and especially noted his efforts concerning EU-Azerbaijan relations.
The Azerbaijani leader also highlighted the importance of the joint action plan for realization of strategic partnership, saying "bilateral relations are based on mutual interests".
The President wished every success to the ambassador.
