Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct.10 / Trend E. Tariverdiyeva /

Cooperation has significantly strengthened between Azerbaijan and Russia in all fields, head of the Russian Presidential Administration Sergei Naryshkin told press in Baku on Monday.

"I am pleased that during my visit to Baku, I was able to meet with President Ilham Aliyev," he said. "We reiterated that cooperation between our two countries significantly strengthens in all areas."

He said the two countries will restore the pre-crisis trade level between the two countries this year.

A unique event occurred in Baku today. The first international humanitarian forum - a joint project between Russia and Azerbaijan opened. The preparation for the forum took a year, he said.

"Together with our Azerbaijani colleagues we managed to gather a unique group of representatives of the world scientific elite at this forum," he said. "A broad range of issues are discussed at the forum."

International Humanitarian Forum on the "21st century: Hopes and challenges" started in the Gulustan Palace in Baku on Monday.

The Baku International Humanitarian Forum is an authoritative ground, where issues of the widest humanitarian cooperation are discussed. Azerbaijan, the country with rich traditions of cooperation between cultures, civilizations and confessions, is an ideal venue for events in this format.
