Azerbaijani President receives incoming British ambassador's credentials

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received credentials of the newly-appointed ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Peter Bateman.
The Ambassador passed along the guard of honor. He handed over the credentials to the Head of State.
President Ilham Aliyev had talks with the ambassador.
The Head of State said Azerbaijan-UK relations were developing successfully in political, economic and cultural spheres.
President Ilham Aliyev apparised activities of the British companies in energy, business and cultural sectors of Azerbaijan.
The Head of State also stressed good traditions in relations between Azerbaijan and the UK expressing assurance on future expansion of bilateral ties and wished him successes.
Ambassador Bateman, in turn, extended greetings by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom to President Ilham Aliyev.
The British ambassador said during his tenure he would spare no efforts to contribute to boosting relations between the two countries.
President Ilham Aliyev reminded his meeting with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II some years ago.
