Tajik and Kyrgyz Presidents Emomali Rahmon and Almazbek Atambayev discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries in Moscow on Tuesday, KyrTAG reported.

The sides discussed a number of issues of mutual interest, including the situation in Afghanistan and implementation of regional infrastructure projects.

The presidents discussed the Central Asia South Asia Electricity Trade and Transmission Project (CASA 1000), aimed at electricity surplus transmit from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The construction of the railway, linking China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan, as well as the issues related to border demarcation between the two countries. Regional security was one of the topics discussed at the presidents' meeting.

Atambayev and Rahmon discussed the possibility of exchange of high level visits.

At present, the presidents are in Moscow to attend the CSTO summit.
