The new wave of arrests in connection with recent events in Gezi Park has been launched in five provinces of Turkey, Sabah newspaper reported on Tuesday.

According to the newspaper, Turkey's Security Service representatives conducted operations in the provinces of Ankara, Izmir, Samsun, Mersin and Tunceli resulting in the arrest of ten people.

Detainment operations are continuing.

As reported earlier, 944 people were arrested during the protests in Turkey.

Protests in Turkey continued for more than three weeks. According to the authorities, the protests had an anti-government character.

Turkey's opposition parties accuse the police of using excessive force against protesters.

As a result of the riots in Turkey, over 4,000 people got traumas of various severity levels, five people were killed and 4,900 people were detained by the police.
