Initial CEC data: Ilham Aliyev gathers 84.55 percent of votes in Azerbaijani presidential election (UPDATE)

The Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan (CEC) announced the initial results from all 5,492 polling stations of 125 constituencies on Thursday.

The Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan (CEC) announced the initial results from all 5,492 polling stations of 125 constituencies on Thursday, a message from the CEC said on Thursday.

According to the message, the protocols were processed in all polling stations and according to the results, the current head of the state, the candidate from the ruling new Azerbaijan Party Ilham Aliyev won the election with 84.55 percent of votes (3,126,612 voters).

According to the CEC data, other candidates gathered the following percent of votes:

Jamil Hasanli - 5.53 percent (204,635 votes);

Igbal Aghazadeh - 2.40 percent (88,667 votes);

Gudrat Hasanguliyev - 1.99 percent (73,586 votes);

Zahid Oruj - 1.45 percent (53,717 votes);

Ilyas Ismayilov - 1.07 percent (39,641 votes);

Araz Alizadeh - 0.87 percent (32,065 votes);

Faraj Guliyev - 0.86 percent (31,774 votes);

Hafiz Hajiyev - 0.66 percent (24,459 votes);

Sardar Mammadov (Jalaloglu) - 0.61 percent (22,728 votes).
