ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 3. The first Agroexpress train composition, sent from Russia to India, will transit through Turkmenistan, Trend reports.
According to Russian Railways, this train composition, organized by the logistics operator of Russian Railways Logistics JSC and 'Dry Port Yuzhnouralsky' LLC, consists of oat flakes and cereals.
A train with 31 twenty-foot containers loaded with oat flakes from the Russian Uvelka manufacturer set off from Formachevo station (South Ural Railway) to Sarakhs station in Turkmenistan.
The containers will then be reloaded onto a 1,435-millimeter gauge, where they will travel through Iran to the port of Bandar Abbas and then by sea to the Indian Mundra port.
Furthermore, the planned transit time of the train with containers to the destination port is 35 days.
Meanwhile, Ivan Tonkikh, General Representative of Russian Railways in Turkmenistan, recently stated that the Russian side is particularly interested in the development of the International North-South Transport Corridor, adding that Turkmenistan occupies a unique position in Central Asia, through which international trade routes pass.
