Azerbaijani president receives delegation led by president of Dagestan
Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec. 26
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received a delegation led by President of the Republic of Dagestan of the Russian Federation Ramazan Abdulatipov.
The Head of State stressed the importance of the ties between Azerbaijan and subjects of the Russian Federation for expanding bilateral relations between the two countries.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence that the visit of President Ramazan Abdulatipov would contribute to the strengthening of the Azerbaijan-Russia bilateral bonds, as well as Azerbaijan-Dagestan friendly ties, which are deeply rooted in history and culture.
The Head of State also noted the visit provided a good opportunity to discuss the economic cooperation.
Dagestan's President Ramazan Abdulatipov noted President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin finds it important to actively continue existing relations between Azerbaijan and Dagestan.
Ramazan Abdulatipov said they have paid respect to national leader Heydar Aliyev and prominent statesman Aziz Aliyev at the Alley of Honors, noting the new Alley and a park in memory of Heydar Aliyev will be built in Derbent.
The Head of State noted Dagestan`s efforts to perpetuate the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev were hailed in Azerbaijan. President Ilham Aliyev also noted Azerbaijani people describe it as an embodiment of the respect to the national leader who contributed to the strengthening of the bilateral relations, as well as friendly and fraternal ties between the two countries.
President Ilham Aliyev also recalled that part of life and career of prominent statesman Aziz Aliyev was associated with Dagestan.
Then Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Dagestan of the Russian Federation Ramazan Abdulatipov had a joint dinner.
