The 69th regular session of the UN General Assembly can be regarded as a successful event for Azerbaijan, as the country implemented its mission with honor by bringing the truth about the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to the international community.
Speaking in the session, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov talked about the details of the ways of resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh problem and said that the protraction of the conflict poses a threat to the region's security. The minister talked about the falsification of facts by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.
Mammadyarov brought to the attention of the international community that by distorting the essence of the norms and principles of the international law and the documents adopted in accordance with these principles, Sargsyan tries to mislead the participants of the UN General Assembly session.
Azerbaijan's foreign minister exposed Sargsyan's attempts to cover up the fact of occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, by distorting the principle of peoples' right to self-determination. Mammadyarov urged the international community to put an end to Armenia's impunity for the crimes committed against the civilians.
So, Sargsyan's attempt to mislead the international community was doomed to failure and he found himself in the 'offside' again.
The whole world is aware that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict remains unresolved due to the destructive policy of the Sargsyan government and the Armenian society also understands that.
It understands that as long as the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict remains unresolved, Armenia will not see any improvement in its condition. The Armenian people sees how paltry looks Armenia in comparison with Azerbaijan, which develops day by day and strengthens its position in the international arena.
By isolating the country from all regional projects, the Armenian leadership puts the fate of its citizens under threat.
The false statements by the president of Armenia can not be taken seriously by the world community. Sargsyan has already gained the image of a war criminal whose hands are stained with the blood of thousands of people.
The 69th regular session of the UN General Assembly showed that Azerbaijan is regarded as a reliable, stable partner in ensuring the regional and global security and in achieving energy security. Azerbaijan's successful foreign policy increases its potential to invest in many countries and continues to strengthen its influence in the international arena.
