Another court session on the criminal case against Khadija Ismayilova was held at the Baku Court of Heinous Crimes August 11.

The session was chaired by Judge Ramella Allahverdiyeva.

The witnesses' testimony was heard at the trial.

First, Fargana Rasulova gave testimony. She is a former mother-in-law of Tural Mustafayev, involved in the case as an aggrieved person.

Rasulova said that when Mustafayev lived in Goychay district, he had good family relations and he did not have a mental illness. She said that Tural's attempts to commit a suicide were not witnessed.

The witness said that after he moved to Baku, Tural had bad family relations. In a while, he left the family.

Rasulova said that her daughter then said that Tural had another woman, so he lost interest in the family.

Then the judge read out testimony of Rasulova during the preliminary investigation. Rasulova in the testimony said that when Mustafayev worked on Azadlig radio, a woman called H. Ismayilova, who worked at the same radio station and who had vast opportunities, helped Tural. She went on to add that after Mustafayev became engaged to a girl named Rovshana, Ismayilova began to exert pressure on him.

At trial, Rasulova said that she partly confirmed her testimony.

Then, Zemfira Aliyeva, Farali Aliyeva, Esmira Javadova and Javid Abdullayev gave testimony as witnesses. After they answered the questions of the public prosecutor and lawyers, the process was completed.

The trial will continue Aug.12 at 3 p.m. (GMT + 5 hours).

Ismayilova was arrested under the article 125 (incitement to suicide) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

Then, new charges were brought against her under the articles 179.3.2 (large-scale misappropriation and embezzlement), 192.2.2 (illegal entrepreneurship), 213.1 (tax evasion) and 308.2 (abuse of official duties) of Azerbaijan's Criminal Code.
