Azerbaijan detains citizen who was secretly working with Armenia’s special services (UPDATE)

A man who was working for the Armenian special services was revealed, Trend reports.

Proceeding from a criminal case, 41-year-old Azerbaijani citizen Emil Mammadov is suspected of high treason.

According to the message, Mammadov met with employees of Armenia’s special services in the territory of a third country and was involved in secret cooperation for money to assist the representatives of the foreign special services.

Mammadov received the tasks to collect information that could be used to the detriment of the state security of the Republic of Azerbaijan, following the rules of the representatives of Armenia’s special services regarding the secrecy of his contacts and the requirements of secrecy.

Thus, Mammadov is charged upon article 274 (high treason) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan and arrested upon a court decision.

Presently, investigative measures are being taken.
