BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 16. The Okhchuchay river continues to be polluted by waste from the Armenian mining industry, Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev said during a scientific-practical conference themed "Environmental water violations contributing to climate change" in Nakhchivan today, Trend reports.
The prosecutor general stressed that during the long conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the coastal and bottom sediments of the Araz river were deliberately contaminated with chemical and radioactive waste, and currently this process continues.
“The rivers flowing in Azerbaijan through the territory of Armenia, especially the Araz and its tributary Okhchuchay, continue to be polluted by waste from the mining industry,” he added.
